Bisexuals do it in Wales

This originally appeared in BCN issue 102.

The last year has been extremely busy in Wales and the next 12 months promise even more exciting developments.  Local groups in Swansea and Cardiff were launched at Cardiff Mardi Gras in September 2009. After some changes Bi Cardiff now meets at 7pm on the first Thursday every month in the Cineworld Cardiff top bar with open socials from 8:15pm. Bi Swansea now meets in the on the third Tuesday every month at 7pm in the YMCA, the Kingsway, Swansea with open socials from 8:15pm in the Hanbury on the Kingsway.

A very successful cake-off between the groups in December 2009 will be repeated by popular demand this December with accompanying live music.
BiFest Wales in April was small, but very successful and a repeat is already booked for Saturday 5th March 2011, 12noon till 6pm workshops and chill out, Cardiff University Students’ Union, 4th floor. Entry £5 unwaged, £10 waged with a social after.
We’re planning events in Cardiff for Bi Visibility Day on 23rd September and have support from many important organisations, such as Stonewall Cymru, Unite the Union Wales, South Wales Police and the Welsh Assembly Government – and are hoping to hold a burlesque themed fundraiser with dancers performing in November 2010.
