Best of Bi?
This year’s Lammy Awards, America’s LGBT book prizes, have been held.
The Lambda Literary Awards – to give their full title – are given each year by the Lambda Literary Foundation to published works which celebrate or explore LGBT themes. The American Institute of Bisexuality is one of the sponsors of the event.
As last year there are now two bi categories (fiction and non-fiction).
The shortlisted titles for Bisexual Fiction were:
Fall Asleep Forgetting by Georgann Packard, published by The Permanent Press
If You Follow Me by Malena Watrous, Harper Perennial
Krakow Melt by Daniel Allen Cox, Arsenal Pulp Press
The Lunatic, the Lover and the Poet by Myrlin Hermes, Harper Perennial
Pride/Prejudice by Ann Herendeen, Harper Paperback
And for Bisexual Nonfiction those shortlisted were:
Border Sexualities, Border Families in Schools by Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli, Rowman & Littlefield
Dear John, I Love Jane: Women Write about Leaving Men for Women edited by Candace Walsh & Laura Andre, Seal Press
Just Kids by Patti Smith, Ecco Press
Mad World: Evelyn Waugh and the Secrets of Brideshead by Paula Byrne, HarperCollins/It Books
Sal Mineo by Gregg Michael Michaud, Crown Archetype
The winners were: The Lunatic, the Lover, and the Poet in the fiction category, and Border Sexualities, Border Families in Schools for non-fiction.
