Utah gets its own BiCon

Salt Lake City has been learning from BiCon, BiFests and Because and is stepping up to make its mark on the bi landscape this week with a bi conference of its own.

Utah’s 1 to 5 Club is organising  “Queer Continuum: Exploring the Nuances of Sexuality + Attraction.” The day will focus on issues ranging from people of colour in the community to a “Sexually Fluid 101” conversation for those seeking to understand the bisexual and B+ community better.

The conference runs Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rowland Hall-St Marks School
843 Lincoln St, Salt Lake City, UT 84102. Suggested donation on the door of $5, but no one will be turned away due to inability to pay.

The workshop programme is set out below – addressing a lot of intersectional issues.  It’s an interesting comparison with UK BiCon events which increasingly have more of those sessions and less first timer / coming out support space: is there less need for those, or a lack of people stepping up to run them?
